With winter sports coming to an end, spring sports are right around the corner. The Arrowhead baseball team is preparing this season to make it to state, just like they did last year.

The Arrowhead website stated, “The Arrowhead High School Boys Baseball program participates in the Classic 8 Conference. Our program consists of four teams this year: Varsity, Junior Varsity and the Freshman Blue and Red teams. Tryouts are in late March and the season concludes with the WIAA state tournament at the middle of June. We play a tough conference schedule during the week, along with some competitive non conference games on the weekends. The baseball fields are located between North and South campus just west of the football field and track. Freshman and Junior Varsity teams practice/play home games at the Junior Varsity baseball diamond. Varsity games are played at O’Driscoll Field. Practices generally run 1 1/2 – 2 hours in length. Practice times vary depending on the squad the player is on. Our first day of tryouts is March 19, 2018. All students must have the concussion form along with the physical or brown card on file in order to participate. No exceptions.”

Senior pitcher, Jacob Johnson said, “I really look forward to getting the season started and hopefully getting back to state, but this time winning the whole thing. Our team is looking really good and I am confident we can go far this season.”

For kids looking to participate in Arrowhead baseball this spring, Arrowhead baseballs website stated, “Looking to participate in a sport that requires skill, strength, strategic thinking and the desire to play as part of a team?  Whatever level you play at, baseball can enhance your life, improving fitness, strength and coordination.

Whether you are looking to play casually in our recreational league or competitively with one of our traveling teams, you’ll find our organization to be a great place to learn new skills and meet new friends.”

Senior Jacob Probst said, “Our team is going to be really good again this year, it’s gonna be a fun senior year.”

Senior Luke Dubnicka said, “I’m really looking forward to this season, especially being a senior, and having a chance to go back to state. We have a lot of talent coming back this year so, I hope that this time we win the whole thing.”
