Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor “The Final Rose” premiered Monday, March 10th. In the final episode Nikki received the final rose but not a proposal which caused controversy with fans of the show.

Pablo has been called by many fans “one of the worst bachelors yet.” The season started well, when the viewers learned all about Pablo and his daughter. Then a couple weeks into Pablo’s journey, his image started to crumble.

On the “Women Tell All” episode that aired last Monday, March 8th, the women revealed Pablo’s true nature. Even Chris Harrison, the bachelor host, said, “(Pablo) has been the most controversial bachelor.”

From day one, Pablo has said he has not wanted to hurt anyone and he wanted to be fair. These in the end seemed to backlash and start more trouble. On the “Women Tell All” episode one contestant said, “he didn’t seem to care about me.” Another added she could tell he wasn’t feeling it as much as she was so she wondered why he didn’t just send her home.

Many of the women bashed Pablo and his true reasons he wanted to be the bachelor. The women said that Pablo “wasn’t genuine” and many times “used his daughter as an excuse” and “he wasn’t on the show to find a wife.”

All these slams started after hearing about Andi’s overnight date that ended up being a nightmare. This showed the audience another side of this Latin hunk that the others girls on the show didn’t seem to talk about until the “Women Tell All Episode.”

After the overnight date Andi described Pablo as, “borderline narcissistic to the point where he was going to go down as the best ‘el bachelor’ in history.”

Andi also added, “I pretended I was asleep so I wouldn’t have to talk to him anymore.”

Prior to Andi, Sharleen decided her and Pablo were not right for each other. Sharleen left before the take home dates because he did not believe their relationship was in the right place yet.

Sharleen says, “I knew that he wasn’t the one for me, like, ultimately. You know, we still had something. We had something great, and I could see him as someone that I would date, very happily, but…we weren’t airtight.”

Although Sharleen left, she still stuck up for him at the “Women Tell All” bashing. Sharleen says, “I have a lot of respect for him, actually, and I thought he was very kind to me.”

After the “Women Tell All” episode the final episode of Pablo’s Bachelor aired to reveal his final decision. The episode started with the two girls meeting Pablo’s family. Both seemed to impressed and to get the approval of the family, although some concerns came up. The family was a little hesitant when asked about Pablo. They said that “he is ready for marriage. Pablo’s mother says, “hyperactive — super hyperactive,” and sometimes, “very rude.”

After meeting his family, the girls went on their final date with Pablo which was then followed by the next day’s final rose. Pablo ended up sending Claire home and he said they were not right together. Claire did not take this news lightly.

Claire said, “I would never want my kids to have a dad like you.”

Then Pablo responded with, “I am glad I didn’t pick her.”

Kiley Beth, a junior at Arrowhead High School, describes this as her favorite part of the season. Beth says, “I love the part where Claire told off Pablo.”

Pablo in the end gave his final rose to Nikki over Claire. This final rose finale was different than the usual bachelor proposal. Pablo said he likes Nikki, but he wasn’t ready to marry her. Nikki agreed and accepted his final rose. But the drama didn’t end there. At the after the final rose Harrison talked to Pablo about his undetermined relationship with Nikki. Pablo continued to defend his feelings for Nikki although Harrison and the rest of the audience didn’t seem to understand their current state of their relationship.

Pablo says, “People don’t understand that this is real life…We are happy we had the opportunity. It’s been tough…It hasn’t been easy. What I’m feeling with Nikki is fantastic.”

Pablo also talked about how he is done with the show and is tired of being criticized. Pablo made a few snaps at the host Harrison. When Harrison asked a follow up question, Pablo said, “I am still talking.”

Beth, says, “He is so rude. The first couple episodes I liked him, but then after watching the after show, I was so surprised. Nikki said that she loved him and Pablo couldn’t even say it back. How rude.”

In the end Nikki says, “We have plans. Now we’re going to figure it out in our private life.”

Beth says, “I did not like the ending. It was the worst season I have ever watched. I like watching when people get proposed on the show and the fact that he didn’t propose… it was weird.”
