2013 Fall Trends Include Leggings, Flannels and Combat Boots

This year, fall trends have changed.  In the past many people wore UGGs, jeans, and a long sleeve shirt or sweater.  2013 has brought a lot more leggings, flannels, and combat boots.

“I’m a fan of flannels and I also love combat boots and scarves,” said sophomore, Maiya Whelan.

These trends have been seen around Arrowhead, as well as many other schools.

Last year there was more of a “whatever you like” style going on.  This year, everyone’s been wearing the same type of thing: leggings, boots, and a sweater, shirt, or flannel.

“I do expect the trend to last at least through the rest of fall and winter, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it changed next fall,” said Whelan.

“I love that this year’s style is comfy, yet cute.  I personally think it’s the best ‘fall trend’ yet,” said sophomore, Kyla Edwards.
“My favorite style is over sized sweaters, boots, and beachy hair.  I think it’s cool how the styles are coming back.  For example, I’m pretty sure the oversized sweaters are coming back from the 80’s,” said Edwards.

Whelan said, “One of my favorite stores to shop at is Urban Outfitters because I think it’s a perfect example of what this year’s style is.  They have a lot of cute flannels and sweaters as well!”

“I would describe this year’s style as a lot of browns, olive greens, deep purples, and down to Earth styles,” said Edwards.

“If I could choose one person that rocks the ‘fall trend’ I would say Emily Parr.  She always pulls off the flannel look with the cute boots and glasses,” said Whelan.

Overall this style is supposed to be comfy, yet cute, and stylish, yet cozy.
