Students and Teachers’ Spring Break Plans

Arrowhead High school’s spring break this year starts on March 23rd and ends on March 31st, 2024. Students are starting to make plans and say they are getting excited for the break—whether that be staying at home or traveling to different locations.

Sophomore Evelyn Perkins says, “I am going to St. Thomas with a friend and my family. My family and I usually go to warm places like Hawaii or Turks and Caicos. We have not been to St. Thomas yet so I am excited.”

St. Thomas is in the Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. It is known for beaches, snorkeling, and warm weather.  In St Thomas during spring break it is supposed to be sunny and in the low 80s.

In Wisconsin the weather for spring break should be fair, staying around 40 degrees to 50 degrees. With some possible rain showers but mostly sunny.

While some students and teachers are traveling, others are staying home over the break.

Jessica Thompson, an Arrowhead High school special education teacher, says,  “During spring break this year, my daughter will be having double eye surgery, so we will be focused on her recovery and unable to go anywhere. I would absolutely appreciate more time off for spring break, even if it impacted our summer break by a week. It would be nice to get away, take a break, recharge, and then come back and finish out the school year.“

Junior Ansley Schaak says, “I wish I could go somewhere for spring break but I have soccer.”

The girls soccer season usually begins in the third week of March and continues until the end of May. The tryouts for the 2024 season will start on Monday, March 18.
