On Saturday, March 14, 2026, Milwaukee lived the lush life with Zara Larsson on her Midnight Sun tour. I had the privilege of attending this concert with my friend Kylie and we had a fantastic time. The show started at 8pm with doors opening at 6:30pm at The Rave/Eagles Ballroom. We decided to get there around 5:15pm to secure a prime spot. With freezing temperatures and a line around the block, we were in for a long wait. Another Arrowhead junior, Dia Arora, also attended the show with her friend and fellow junior, Owen Manne. She got to the venue around 3pm and gave me some advice about queuing for the concert. “Be prepared to wait in line for a while if you want to snag a good view at her concerts—or just get VIP if you’re impatient,” Dia Arora, Arrowhead junior, said.
After about an hour and a half of waiting we finally got inside and rushed to The Eagles Ballroom on the upper level of the building. The floor was already packed with fans in colorful, sparkly outfits and hibiscus flowers galore. It was clear the crowd was ready for a good time as one fan was dressed in a blow-up dolphin costume: a reference to a popular meme involving Larsson’s song “Symphony.” Kylie and I found a spot in the middle of the floor and anticipated the night ahead.
At 8 o’clock, the lights dimmed and opener Amelia Moore took the stage. She successfully got the crowd hype by playing one of her unreleased songs called “Prom Queen.” Following her short set, stage hands came on and set up the area for Zara Larsson’s main performance.
Finally at 8:50pm, something in the air shifted. We heard a faint humming of her hit song “Lush Life” as an orange silhouette appeared on stage. Then “Midnight Sun” began and the crowd went insane. Larsson had four main backup dances that brought their best moves to the stage, making the vibes even more positive. I was most excited to hear her sing “Can’t Tame Her” and “Ain’t My Fault.” Both songs sounded fantastic and she even did a cover of Britney Spears’s “Gimme More.”
About one third of the way into the show we left the pit to go downstairs and get some water as the crowd was extremely congested. Returning to the pit, we went to the back right of the ballroom facing the stage and had much more space to dance than we did right in the middle of the general audience. It is important to prioritize staying hydrated and safe at concerts because passing out or falling in the pit is really dangerous and not worth the risk for a good spot. The Rave staff did a nice job of handing out water to people in the pit for free to try in order to prevent any incidents.
The later half of the show was incredibly lit. The colorful stage mixed with energetic dancing definitely promoted the “Eurosummer” vibes of the tour. I asked some other Arrowhead students about their thoughts on the concert and all of them had great reports.
“I had such a blast! Zara is an incredible performer with insane vocals and outfits. Not gonna lie, her concerts feel like those girly sleepovers you see in 2000’s films or a Lisa Frank sticker sheet,” Dia Arora, Arrowhead junior, said, “The crowd was insane though! There were over 3.5K in GA [General Admission], so honestly, I was squished 50% of the night, but getting to see Zara made up for it.”
“I had an incredible time! Even though I didn’t know every single song, she was such a fantastic performer that it didn’t even matter,” Anastasia Symko, Arrowhead junior, said, “The songs were so easy to catch onto if you didn’t know the lyrics, and the energy from the people in the crowd was amazing. Definitely one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.”
These testimonies do not lie– Zara Larsson’s performance was next level. She played a good mix of songs from her new album but made sure to include nostalgic hits like “Ruin My Life” and “Never Forget You.” Kylie even recorded the three girls in front of us doing the viral “Lush Life” dance. Dia was right; the crowd felt like one big party. Larsson closed the show with “Symphony,” and people in the balcony were dropping inflatable dolphins on us below! Even as the night was coming to a close fans did not let their spirits dim. Kylie and I were screaming the lyrics with all of our might and danced our hearts out until dawn. Zara Larsson was a much needed escape from the gray Midwest weather. To Zara: Milwaukee will never forget you!
