Phoebe Bridgers has returned to music after a brief hiatus during which she has not released a solo album since Punisher in 2020. Currently, details surrounding her comeback are minimal. Bridgers has played a few pop-up shows, with the first one occurring in Roswell, NM on May 8, 2026.
The approach to this pop-up mini tour is certainly non-traditional. On a show day, a poster will appear near a venue with little to no promotion. The box office will open at 12 p.m. local time and fans will line up to buy tickets. Fans will receive a numbered wristband so they can leave and come back to line up closer to the doors. No pictures or videos are allowed to be taken during the show, as any phones will be put in a blackout pouch. So far, Bridgers has played 14 shows in various cities in the United States.
Originally, fans were surprised by the choice to debut this new era in Roswell. Although the next show was in Lubbock, TX a pattern was brought up where fans noticed she was playing shows in areas with alleged UFO sightings. The Roswell Incident, the Lubbock Lights and multiple sightings that have happened in Little Rock, AK and Memphis, TN. For frequent updates about where she is playing or what setlists have been most popular, fans are looking towards the Instagram account @bridgersupdates.
The setlists vary slightly with “Sidelines,” “ICU” and “Would You Rather” being some examples of songs that have been switched out, but generally speaking, she plays her hits like “Motion Sickness,” “Kyoto” and “Scott Street.” In addition to songs off her past two albums, Bridgers has debuted four new, untitled songs. Due to no recording being allowed, nothing is known about these new songs, yet fans are still hype for this new era and are waiting for an official tour or album release. “I feel very fortunate that one of my music wishes is coming true in 2026 with Phoebe’s return and that she’s releasing new music. While there is no doubt that pharbz (what Phoebe’s fans call themselves) are eager to make these spontaneous shows, concerns about concert etiquette have been brought up. One fan comments on how others are lining up at venues based on prediction before posters are even put out. “Saw a Reddit post saying 30 people were already lined up at the window at 4am…can we please be normal???” user @zoe.scarborough, via Instagram, commented. There are reports of fans following the tour bus, which is not acceptable behavior.
