Peterson is a senior who played in both of the powder puff game in the last two years. She was a leader of the senior team, scoring a touchdown and getting important tackles.

The annual Junior vs. Senior powder puff game was held on Sunday, October 29th at 5:00 PM at Centennial Field. This year’s football game was won by the Senior girls. The game is played every year the Sunday after homecoming.

Auguste Jepsen, a junior who played powder puff this year, said, “The game was really fun, but painful because it eventually turns into tackle. It was a great opportunity to get together with friends and I love playing football.”

Jepsen said each team is coached by the boys in their grade level who play football.

The junior’s head coach was Jack Bredeson. The game is officiated by senior boys who do not play football. This year’s refs were Colin Koerber and Justin Radtke. In the stands were parents and students who wanted to watch the game.

Lauren Peterson, a senior who played powder puff this year and last year, said, “I was really sad to have that be my last powder puff game ever. I really enjoy playing in the game and I definitely looked forward to it both years.”

Peterson said the game was not close at all and that the final score was 35-7, with the winning.

Jepsen said, “I was not intimidated going into the game because I am friends with most of the seniors and I was more excited than anything. I know some girls were definitely intimidated though.”

Jepsen also said the game was not a close one because the juniors stopped trying in the end and the seniors played very well.

Peterson said, “The atmosphere was great this year because there were so many people in the stands. It was for sure a great way to close homecoming weekend.”
