At Arrowhead, journalism is a class that meets tenth hour both semesters. Students can take the class for one, two, or three years.

Seniors  Justin Radtke and Johnny Marquardt are retired Arrowhead reporters  they both were in the class as juniors. Radtke took the class as a sophomore while Marquardt only took it his junior year.

“It was a fun class because I had a lot of friends in it,” said Marquardt.

Both students didn’t take the class this year because of their schedule changes.

“It’s nice because I can just go home now because I have FSO,” said Radtke

FSO stands Flexible Scheduling Option, which allows students to skip first hour or leave end of ninth hour.

Journalism is first offered to students during their sophomore year.

“I definitely recommend this class because it makes you a better writer,” said Marquardt.

“This class is easy and Ms. J is the bomb diggady,” says Radtke

Both wrote stories about the sports teams at Arrowhead High School. Marquardt wrote stories about the boy’s soccer varsity team as well and the varsity football team after they won state last year.

Radtke wrote articles on the boy’s varsity basketball team as well as Coach Hoch on his accomplishments through his high school years.

“One thing I miss about journalism is being able to interview people for our articles and joking with Ms. J,” said Marquardt.
