Wholly Cow Frozen Custard has been a Delafield favorite since its establishment in June of 1992 according the the whollycowcustard.com. This family business serves hot meals as well as custard and toys according the the whollycowcustard.com

It is located at 637 Main Street Delafield, WI 53018. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. They are closed on Sundays and open only in warm weather seasons, according the the whollycowcustard.com. To contact the restaurant the phone number is (262)-646-2555.

“We are closed on Sunday’s because we needed a day off. My wife and I used to both work full time so having the custard shop closed on at least one of the weekend days is nice. Sunday is God’s day. When my kids were young we would always spend time together as a family on this day after church,” says store owner Jim Stoffer.

Stoffer is the original owner of the restaurant and owns the store currently.

According to Stoffer, vanilla and chocolate are the most popular flavors but they also carry mint chocolate chip, chocolate chip cookie dough, rainbow sherbet, blue moon, cake and ice-cream, butter pecan, coconut joy, firecracker, mackinaw fudge, vanilla yogurt, superman, and carmel collision.

“My favorite thing to get here is a pecans on a hot fudge sundae! I ride my bike to the shop all of the time in the summer,” says Delafield local customer Elizabeth Roven.

One topping sundaes at the Wholly Cow are priced at $3.75 before tax.

The shop also sells toys and hot meals.

“The cheeseburger and fries here always hits the spot,” says local Harrison Davidson.

A cheese burger runs $5.69 and the regular fries cost $2.25 according to the signs located in the restaurant.

Stoffer says that the shop opens up usually after Easter because the custard shop is too slow to have open in Wisconsin’s cold winters. He says they hire between 13 and 15 employees each season ages 16 and up.

“So nice to have a local, family owned place right in downtown that has been here so long.  Best custard in the area for sure!” says local Jan Martin.

“It’s rare now to not be part of a chain, but we are one of a few family restaurants left in the area. We are so proud of this,” Stoffer says.

According to the whollycowcustard.com they have always done everything they can to support the community by donating to local festivals and community centers.

Stoffer says that they appreciate all of the loyal customers who support their local businesses.
