Making working hard look easy

Kathleen Baber is a student at Arrowhead Highschool, who balances two jobs, a sport, school, family, and friends. Yet as stressful as it sounds, Baber handles it all no problem.

Many students choose to work during highschool, but very few have more than one job.

“It’s sometimes difficult juggling both jobs at times, like when both schedule me at the same time, but I’m earning money to save up and I learn a lot of real life skills.” Baber says.

Baber works weekday evenings at a grocery store, and weekends at a restaurant. Both jobs require Baber to speak with customers and work as a team with others.

Aside from having two jobs, Baber also plays tennis for Arrowhead’s JV Blue team.

“Tennis is always my escape,” Baber says, “when I get stressed out  it helps me blow off steam.”

A teammate of Baber says, “She works so hard to better herself and help the team accomplish it’s goals.”

When Baber’s not working our playing tennis, she is hanging out with her friends and family.

“My family is always there to help me and guide me. My friends are always there to joke around with and keep me positive.” She says.

“Kathleen doesn’t let small things stress her out,  which is probably why she handles being busy all the time so well.” Kristi Peret, a close friend of Baber, commented.

Like any other teenager, most of Baber’s time is spent in school.

“School gets pretty intense sometimes, and I feel  like we are smetimes taught things that don’t matter, and it seems like it’s a waste of stress.” Baber also says, “I like math a lot though, because there’s always one, straight forward answer, opposed to english where things can be interpreted different ways.”

Kathleen Baber balances work, family, friends, and still manages to keep up with school work.
