With March approaching Track and Field is only a few weeks away.  The official start date of the season is on March 10th.  The First meet of the year takes place on March 22nd as the Varsity crew travels to UW – Whitewater for the Nelson/Daniels Classic.

Last season the Warhawks were able to score 10 points at the WIAA state Championship held in La Crosse, Wisconsin.  The Warhawks look to return several members of the team to state this year. Despite losing several impactful seniors including Mark Duchow, Ben Bierman, Jake Dubnicka, Steve Radeztsky, Karl Tremmel, and Austin Fisher, all state qualifiers, the team looks to have lots of success this year.

Chris Herriot has been the Head Track and Field coach at Arrowhead for several years now.  Herriot’s message to athletes about the season is centered on improvement. “The most important thing for seniors and really every athlete is that they have improved from the previous season.  I hope seniors can leave with a sense of pride knowing that they made it through 4 years of a tough sport.  I think in the long run it makes you a better person,” says Herriot.

With some younger talent, several returning seniors and varsity letter recipients on the team, the Warhawks will look to win the Classic 8 conference.  It will be a difficult task with talented teams such as Mukwonago in the conference, but the Warhawks look up to the task.

“I think one of our main goals for the season needs to be winning conference.  Aside for that getting as many kids to qualify for state as we can, and ultimately doing as well as we can at the state championship,” says Herriot.
