Seniors Ready to Leave High School Behind

High school is coming to a close and the Arrowhead Union High School seniors will graduate on June 2, 2018, at seven pm.

AHS senior Kayla Vogt says she is extremely happy for her time at Arrowhead and would not have wanted her last four years any other way.

“In my time at Arrowhead, I have gone to state for cross country four times and track four times. I had met plenty of new friends and that is where I met my best friend. [Arrowhead] has shaped me for who I am today. I was lucky to have gotten a running scholarship to further my track career at the University of Minnesota,” Vogt said.

Sports is not the only thing Vogt says she has enjoyed the past four years. She has also enjoyed the fun memories with her friends and events she attended.

“There is so many memories with so many great people and I am glad I was a part of this experience with all the sporting events and clubs I was a part of. Arrowhead is such a big school so there were so many opportunities that I was a part of, like volunteering at Hawkfest, the two state football games I went to as a freshman and sophomore, and all the basketball games. It is really sad to think that high school is coming to a close but it is exciting we are moving onto a new chapter in our lives,” said Vogt.

AHS senior Caylen Berg, on the other hand, says she is excited to move onto another chapter of her life.

“I am really happy that I get to leave for college soon and start fresh. There were a lot of fun memories that I made but at the same time I am sick of doing the same thing everyday and seeing the same people everyday. College will be better with more opportunities. From what I have heard, college is supposed to be the best four years of your life and I couldn’t be more excited,” said Berg.

According to a website, ODYSSEY, “[In college] you’re away from home for probably the first time ever. You now have a level of control over your life that you lacked while being back in high school living with your parents. You get to do school at your own pace, and have very few authority figures breathing down your back. You’re away from home for probably the first time ever. And what a feeling, amirite? Berg said, “Overall I am happy I got to experience high school but I am so happy to start fresh.”
