Tuesday, September 23 was the official day of fall, but for Arrowhead students in

Hartland Wisconsin, the physical effects of fall are just starting to show around the campus

Ricki Galstad, a senior at Arrowhead High School, says she is excited for fall this year.

“The leaves have been really pretty this year and the fall has been longer than more. I’m really enjoying taking my dog outside and playing in all the leaves; he really enjoys it,” says Galstad.

Galstad says that this year her family is collecting leaves and having a bonfire in her backyard when all the leaves fall.

“My parents are buying s’more supplies and we are going to burn all the leaves and some wood my dad has and have a big fire, I’m really looking forward to that,” says Galstad.

Rachel Thorn, a senior at Arrowhead High School, says that she’s looking forward to the pumpkin farm this year.

“My mom, my sister, and I are all going to the pumpkin farm this year and picking out pumpkins and carving them. Later, we always bake the seeds with a homemade recipe passed down from my grandma’s parents,” says Thorn.

Thorn says that she’s also looking forward to spending some time at haunted houses this fall.

“Haunted houses is always something I look forward to each year, but most of the time I’m really scared to go into them. As long as I have a big group of friends with me, they are always a blast,” says Thorn.

Thorn says that this year she plans to go to the haunted house in Waukesha with a bunch of her friends Halloween night.

“Haunted houses always set the mood for the fall season and always gets me really excited for the winter months too.” says Thorn.

Sam Shepherd, a senior at Arrowhead High School, says that she is looking forward to going to apple picking and the cooler weather.

“I enjoy fall clothes more than summer clothes; I’m excited to wear my sweaters that were tucked away,” says Shepherd.

Shepherd says that every year her family goes apple picking as a tradition and makes homemade caramel apples at home.

“Fall for me is always about tradition and family. I spend a lot of time with my family in the fall and it’s always something I look forward to every year,” says Shepherd.
