Battle Rounds of “The Voice” Begin

The hit television show “The Voice” premiered its sixth season on February 24, 2104.  This reality television show is broadcasted on NBC and seeks new singing sensations over the age of fourteen.

The show begins with four coaches filling each of their teams with twelve artists during the “Blind Audition” round.  This season, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher, and Shakira are the coaches acquiring singers to become “The Voice.”   The producers could not have picked a better variety of coaches—based on their singing genres and their personalities.

The “Blind Auditions” is a unique twist in evaluating a singer because the coaches are facing the opposite way—this allows a singer to be judged solely on their voice, and not their appearance.  This  makes the show less biased.

The weeks that follow the Blind Auditions are filled with a variety of different rounds, in which the artists have the potential to be eliminated, either from their coaches or from the viewer’s votes.

The competition between the coaches gives “The Voice” an edge over other popular singing competition shows, such as “American Idol.”

TV Line.com says, “Even in an episode where the musical talent doesn’t send you directly to iTunes in a flurry of ‘must download this immédiatement’ enthusiasm, there’s still an undeniable magic beneath the surface.”

The coaches give the show another level of competition—one filled with both humor and friendly rivalries.  This and the relationships that are developed between the coaches and the artists give the show more entertainment for the viewers.

The coaches competing against each other, instead of just the singers competing with against each other, allows the watchers to reach a level of connection when they are able to see the famous coaches’ true personalities.
