Varsity Baseball Hosts Senior and Parents Night

On Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, the Arrowhead Baseball program hosted Senior Night and Parents Night. 

 

Arrowhead Baseball Varsity’s senior class this year includes 11 senior players and three senior managers. 

 

Senior players graduating this year are Brady Beck, Brady Carpenter, Brayden Ramus, Carter Scott, Issei Takahashi, Jacob Lorbecki, Josh Gilroy, Matthew Ortin, Sam Reichert, Nolan Buss, and Wes Lindee. 

 

Senior managers graduating this year are Connor Foley, Sam Evert, and Brody Dentz.

 

To celebrate the seniors, each player got a laminated picture of themselves, flowers, and gifts from the underclassmen that picked them randomly. Gifts included shirts, gift cards, and food. 

 

To celebrate the parents, all players on the team lined up in number order and when announced their parents would join them on the field and receive flowers and pictures.  

 

The Warhawks faced the Waukesha South Blackshirts at O’Driscoll Field located on Arrowhead High School’s Campus at 4:30 p.m for senior night. Arrowhead won with a score of 8-3. 

 

Buss had 11 strikeouts in the victory over Waukesha South. Buss gave up eight hits and three runs over five innings, while walking two batters. 

 

In the bottom of the first inning, Arrowhead got on the board after Lindee hit a sacrifice fly, and Lorbecki singled, each scoring one run. 

 

Gilroy hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third, followed up by another home run in the sixth inning by Takahashi, scoring three runs. 

 

Waukesha South’s pitcher Tanner Lange took the loss for the Blackshirts. Lange pitched for five and one-third innings, giving up seven runs on six hits, striking out four and walking three. 

 

Junior Graiden Liethen and Ramus both pitched relief for Arrowhead. 

 

Reichert had three hits in three at bats and led the team in hits for the night. Takahashi led the team with three runs driven in. 

 

Arrowhead will travel to Waukesha South for their next game on Thursday, May 16th at Frame Park at 7:30 p.m.
