Arrowhead high school’s 2024 spring break starts March 23 and students return to school on April 1, 2024. Students prepare for spring break in different ways. Students report their nails, buy clothes, or go tanning.
Popular nail places students go include Elegant Nails located in Hartland. Their hours are 9am-7pm Monday-Friday, Saturday 9-5, and they are closed on Sundays.
Students also frequent E-Nails located in Hartland. Their hours are 9am-7pm Monday-Friday, Saturday 9-5, and they are closed on Sundays. Their prices for a full set with gel polish is $55 and an extra $5-10 for designs.
Pewaukee Nails located in Pewaukee hours are from 9:30am-7:30pm Monday-Friday, Saturday 9:30-5:30, and closed on Sundays. Their prices for a full set with gel polish is $50 and an extra $5-10 with designs.
“I went to E-Nails and have been for a while now and I love going there. They do a very good job,” said senior Grace Hamilton.
Another nail salon students go to is Gigi nails.
Senior Ellie Kadrich said, “I’ll go anywhere for my pedicures but if I’m getting my nails done, I will go to Gigi.”
Popular tanning places are Bronzer Image Tanning located in Hartland, Tropitana located in Delafield, and Sun Tan City located in Waukesha.
Senior Erica Bub said, “Since I am going somewhere warm for spring break, I decided to go tanning so then I wouldn’t completely fry in the sun.”
Many students also report shopping online for swimsuits, clothes, shoes, and jewelry.
A popular clothes website students shop on is SHIEN. SHEIN is a fast fashion retailer that started in 2008 and became the world’s largest retailer in 2022. SHIEN sells everything from clothes to electronics. Prices range from two to 70 dollars. Shipping can be from one to three weeks depending on how much is bought.
Junior Lauren Thompson said, “I bought a lot of clothes off SHIEN for a very cheap price. I also got a couple new swimsuits because they have a lot of cute patterns.”
Students also say they like to shop on Amazon.
Senior Payton Teel said, “I like to buy a lot of my jewelry on Amazon because it isn’t too expensive and they have a lot to choose from.”
Students also have to pack for spring break and senior Grace Hamilton said, “I am a very last minute packer. I leave for spring break soon and still haven’t packed yet.”
