What Students Want for Valentine’s Day

Roses are red, violets are blue, here’s a Valentines article for you. Valentine’s Day arrives on Tuesday, February 14th, 2023, and students are expecting gifts from friends, significant others, and people they care about.

According to Teleflora, Valentine’s roses are the most common flowers given on Valentine’s Day. Roses can be purchased at stores like Pick’n Save and Walmart, along with smaller shops in Hartland like The Flower Garden and Wild Petals Floral.

Arrowhead senior Alyson Lo said, “I want chocolate covered strawberries, I want flowers, stuffed animals.”

Another popular gift this Valentine’s Day is heart-shaped catering trays from Chick-Fil-A. These trays can contain various menu items including nuggets, chocolate chunk cookies, and chocolate chunk brownies. Heart-Shaped trays are only available from January 25th to February 25th. Participating Chick-Fil-A’s include the Delafield location at 2980 Golf Ct, Delafield, WI 53018.

Arrowhead senior Aiden Brimm said, “What I give depends on the person, all I want back is love. I don’t want anything specific, just words of affirmation.”

For homemade gifts, some ideas include cards, paper flowers, love letters, and scrapbooks.

Kyra Vojvodich, an Arrowhead senior, says that she has high standards for her Valentine’s gifts. “I would like my lover’s organ, or like chocolate.”

Many local restaurants have Valentine’s Day deals. The most popular include The Melting Pot in Brookfield, Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee, and GoodKind in Milwaukee. More Restaurants with Valentine’s day discounts can be found here

Senior Kate Sprinkman says she does not enjoy Valentine’s Day. “I don’t like it. It’s for people in relationships and I’m not in a relationship.”
