Arrowhead High School open gyms for boy’s basketball are underway. Open gyms started on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, in the North Campus West gym. They are now held on Mondays and Wednesdays for anyone who would like to attend from 3 to 4:30 PM.
Tryouts for the boy’s basketball team are on November 11th, 12th, and 13th in the north campus east gym.
Last season, the AHS basketball boys team lost in the first sectional game to the Germantown Warhawks, 61-46, ending their 2012 basketball season.
This year’s team loses four starters from last year: Kenny Finco, Jackson Abresch, Dom Todarello, and Kyle Keranen. Also, AHS lost three key role players in Brandon Kim, DJ Escamilla, and Kevin Leroy.
Senior guard Ricky Finco said, “My favorite part of last year’s team were the dinners and being with all the seniors. They were a great group of guys to be around.”

Finco said, “I’m excited for this year because we won’t know where our team will go this year.”
Finco said, “The team goals for this year are to take every play seriously and not only be focused on games, but also be focused for practices and make every play count.”
Senior forward Evan Burlingame said, “I am very excited for the season because I have fun being around the guys that I play with everyday.”
Burlingame said, “The group of seniors we had made it easy to come to practice every day and play hard…the team goal for this year is to win another conference championship.”
Finco said, “The game I am looking forward to in the Brookfield Central game because there a great team and it’s at the Al Mcguire Center and its always a great atmosphere there.”
AHS plays Brookfield Central at the Al McGuire Center on December 21st.
Burlingame said, “I’m looking forward to the Brookfield Central because we play them at the Al Mcguire Center.”
Burlingame said, “I think Germantown will be our hardest game. There a great team and coming off back to back state titles.”
Finco said, “I’m also looking forward to playing Germantown because they have great athletes on their team. They can change a game around at any given moment.”
The Warhawks will open season on November 22, against West Allis Central.
