Arrowhead Students Can’t Stop Talking About Summerfest

Beginning on June 25th and ending on July 6th, Wisconsin’s annual music festival, Summerfest, will be open for people of all ages. Summerfest is a 9 day festival that offers music, food, games, and shopping. General admission for a day is thirteen dollars and can be purchased at the Summerfest Grounds. The Power Pass is seventy dollars and is sold at Pick N’ Saves.

Arrowhead juniors Alyssa Recknagel and Charlie Sprinkman say they are looking forward to all the activities Summerfest has to offer.

Recknagel says she attends Summerfest a few times per year and spends a lot of money on food, shopping, and bus rides.

“I can only afford to go a few times per year because everything there is so expensive. The price of admission and the bus to get down there each day adds up. And that’s not even considering the amount of money I blow through eating there and shopping there,” says Recknagel.

Shuttle busses are provided for attendees at local Park & Rides for a round trip fee of ten dollars per ticket.

Sprinkman says he is getting the Power Pass for Summerfest so he can save money and still be able to go every day. Power Passes are sold at Pick N’ Saves for $70 and are on sale now until the week of Summerfest. The pass allows general admission for every day at any time of the day.

“I get the Power Pass because it is way cheaper than buying an admission ticket every day for $15,” says Sprinkman.

Recknagel says she is looking forward to the music and being around her friends the most for this year’s Summerfest. Recknagel says she enjoys going with her family during the day to go shopping and then hanging out with her friends and listening to music at night.

“I get the best of both worlds when I spend the day at Summerfest with my family then am with my friends at night,” says Recknagel.

Sprinkman says he is looking forward to seeing the following bands: New Order, The Neighborhood, Phantogram, and Tegan and Sara.

Recknagel says she plans on seeing The Fray, Lady Gaga, and Bruno Mars with her family and some other free stage headliners with her friends.
