Boys Track Ready to Bounce Back

The 2014 boys track season started last week on Monday, March 10th.

This years team lost key contributing seniors from last year. Mark Duchow, Jim Mcvey, Steven Radeztsky and Andrew Wartmann all were lost to graduation.

Duchow and Radeztsky were sprinters for the Hawks. Mcvey was a pole Vaulter and Andre Wartmann was a long distance runner.

Duchow took fifth in the 200 meter at state along with Steven Radeztky took seventh in long jump. Mcvey took last while Wartamn took sixth in the mile.

The Warhawks first indoor meet will be Saturday, March 22nd at 10 a.m. at University Wisconsin Whitewater. Teams that will be in the meet are Brookfield East, Madison Memorial, Waukesha South.

“We have a very strong team this year. We may have the most depth than we ever had before,” says Menzter.

The Warhawks took third last year in the Whitewater Track meet.

The week of June 3rd is the 2014 State track meet at UW La-Crosse.

“I think we have a great chance at winning state this year.  We have strong runners with a lot of experience,” says McCormack.

At state last year, Green Bay Preble took first, while the Warhawks took fifth.

“Brookfield East and Kettle Moraine have great runners and will be tough teams to beat,” says Menzter.
