AHS Hockey Team Looking Forward to Playoffs

The Arrowhead boy’s hockey team has suffered from multiple injuries this year. Senior Jake Miller, junior Mike Bauer, freshman Sam Miller, senior Sam Schultz, and senior Nick Peterson are just some of the players who have suffered injuries this year.

Jake Miller suffered a wrist injury, Mike Bauer and Sam Schultz suffered a shoulder injury, and Nick Peterson suffered a knee injury.

Senior defender Matt Keranen said, “Our season is going well even though we have had a lot of injuries, but we are a very, very well rounded team.”

Junior center John Sorenson said, “We have had a lot of injuries, but we were able to play with other players. We have most players back and we are looking very well for playoff.”

The only two players out for the Warhawks still are junior Mike Bauer with a shoulder injury, senior Nick Peterson with a knee injury, and freshman Sam Miller with an Achilles injury.

The AHS boy’s hockey team currently has a 12-7-2 record and is qualified for the playoffs.

Keranen said, “Our goals for the playoffs are to just play as a team and try and win every game by three goals so our fans can get free Culvers.”

Sorenson said, “The goals we have for the playoffs are to play as a team and make it as far as we can.”

Keranen said, “My favorite goal this year is when I scored a goal while playing defense.”

Sorenson said, “The memory I will remember from this year is giving Collin McBride an assists in the DECA Marketing Night against Fond u lac to tie the game at 1-1.”

The Arrowhead boy’s hockey team’s next game is at against the Verona Wildcats       2-15-14 for the Mullet Invite.  With the playoffs starting in the next few weeks.
