It is an exciting time to be part of the band. Any student enrolled in a curricular band is placed into one of three pep bands and scheduled to perform at three different games, running from January 6 through mid-March.
This year’s pep band repertoire features crowd-favorite hits such as “Narco” by Timmy Trumpet, “Carry On My Wayward Son” by Kansas, “Zoot Suit Riot” by Cherry Poppin’ Daddies and more.
“I love Pep Band. I love being with my friends and playing fun music,” Sean Agnew, junior, said. “I try to make every game because it’s such a great time.”
Pep Band performs at both the Girls’ and Boys’ basketball games, as well as the Boys’ and Girls’ hockey games, this season. There will also be a double-header pep band event, where one band performs at the earlier game and another band takes over for the later matchup.
“I love Pep Band because it is one of the only activities that brings together all of our students from all five curricular ensembles working together, regardless of experience and skill level,” Ryan Meisel, band director, said. “I also love the energy of the music and how it contributes to the athletic atmosphere.”
Check out an upcoming game to see if the Pep Band will be there to support; you will not want to miss the amazing music they have in store!
