The holiday season has officially begun, and Arrowhead students and staff are embracing the traditions that make this time of year meaningful. From classic movies to cozy family rituals, each tradition helps build excitement as winter break approaches.
“My favorite holiday tradition is getting matching pajamas with my family and then my husband reading ’Twas the Night Before Christmas to my kids,” Jennifer Batzner, psychology teacher, said.“We also have three days of family events, and I love spending time with my family.”
Many students share similar experiences centered around time spent together. “My favorite holiday tradition is that while my family puts up our Christmas tree, we have to watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” Hailey Mehring, senior, said.
Beyond individual traditions, many Arrowhead students and staff also participate in seasonal activities such as baking cookies, attending holiday concerts, volunteering, or driving around local neighborhoods to look at Christmas lights.
As students and staff head into winter break, these moments of reflection and celebration remind the Arrowhead community what the holidays are truly about: kindness, togetherness, and the comfort of familiar traditions.
