Best Places to Get Last Minute Prom Attire

Arrowhead’s 2023 prom is May 20th. The location is the brookfield conference center and doors open at 6:00 PM and close at 7:00 PM. Tickets for prom go for $85.00 and are available up until May 4th. With prom being around two weeks away, students who do not have attire yet may be struggling to find places to go to.

Brookfield mall, located 95 N Moorland Rd in Brookfield, is a good place to look for dresses. The mall offers multiple store to shop in, all differing styles and prices. The store Windsor has a large selection of special occasion dresses along with a small selection of jewelry and shoes. Windsor is on the lower end of prices. JC Penny is another option that also offers special occasion dresses along with suits and tuxes. They also have a wide selection of accessories and shoes. Overall, JC Penny’s cost is on the lower end, however, students can find attire in the clearance section which can help buff costs.

Mayfair mall, located 2500 N Mayfair Rd in Wauwatosa, offers more of a variety than Brookfield does. Stores mentioned above like Windor are located here (but with a wider stock) but also other stores like Suite Five Seven, Nordstrom, and Macy’s. Each store varies in prices, with Suite Five Seven and Nordstrom being more on the expensive side. Other stores like Windsor and Macy’s are also at Mayfair which have cheaper prices.

Senior Jessica LaValley said, “I got my dress at Macy’s in Mayfair.”

Senior Lydia Le Clair said “I got my dress at Amelishan Prom in February. It was $225.00”

For something more local, students can check out Decor Adore Boutique at 139 E Capital Dr in Downtown Hartland. This shop has a small selection of special occasion dresses along with shoes and accessories. The shop is on the more affordable side but may not have as wide of a variety as the stores mentioned above.

Another option for people are websites like Amazon. Dresses, suits, and tuxedos can be purchased online and delivered quickly with subscriptions like Amazon prime. Amazon offers all kinds of dresses from different venders, and many offer free returns if there is something faulty, which makes it good for last minute buyers.

Likewise, Etsy can be a platform students can use to purchase attire. Etsy offers handmade items from individual businesses; the platform is global meaning the shipping time can vary depending on the seller. This means that late buyers may have better luck purchasing from Amazon or a physical store, as their attire may not get

“My dress was $250.00 and I got it in earlier April.” Senior Zara Agustin Jardon stated.

It can also be noted that Arrowhead PTO is currently partnered with Best Tuxedo Company in which for every rental they get they will donate $10.00 to Arrowhead. The packages range from $119.00 to $159.00 with additional add-ons being more money. The link above details their location and hours of operation.

“I ordered it from David’s Bridal,” Said Senior Kate Sprinkman, “It was about $180.00. They are going out of business so most of their dresses are cheaper.”
