Ainsley Reichert, a senior at Arrowhead, said, “With a lot of experienced actors and crew members and such a lighthearted show, this tech week is off to a strong start. I haven’t felt as much of the stress that I usually do, even with the long rehearsals.” Reichert is part of the production crew as a backstage helper for the show.

The first day of tech rehearsals on Monday, April 25th, 2022, was designated to programing light and sound cues. The cast wasn’t called as it was a “dry tech” rehearsal before bringing in the actors. The seven crew members on production crew were called to get everything ready to go, along with hanging up posters at both campuses. The spotlight that starts at the beginning of the show was also locked into place.

Tech rehearsals with both cast and crew were scheduled for Tuesday, April 26th, 2022 and Thursday and Friday, April 28th and 29th, 2022. The Wednesday rehearsal was taken out as the cast did not need another rehearsal with it being such a simple show that was perfected over the past month.

The goal for the three tech rehearsals with cast and crew was to run the show fully without stopping with actors in costume.

There was a technical issue within the first scene of the show on Tuesday with one of the spotlights burning out and needing to be replaced. This slowed down the beginning of the run as the cast had to wait till the spotlight lamp got replaced.

The directors faced challenges throughout the week that got addressed and fixed over time. Besides challenges, the run through of the show ran smoothly with actors remembering their cues and technical cues going smoothly.

Reichert said, “I’m confident that we’ll be ready for performances next week and that this show will be a fun one.”
