Arrowhead Mock Trial Team Qualifies for State Finals

Mock trial is a club at Arrowhead that works from September to February on a case sent out by the Wisconsin State Bar. The AHS team is currently run by seniors, Oliver Lee, David Zhou, and Noelle Herrmann, and is advised by English teacher, Katie Herrmann. The season starts in September, and any students who are interested should contact Mrs. Herrmann. The team takes the case and makes their own arguments towards either the plaintiff or defense argument. Informal scrimmages are held throughout the season to give teams practice for regionals. Regionals were held February 12th and 13th of this year. Arrowhead placed first and will advance to state.

Lily Liu, sophomore, says “I think this took a lot of preparation. Creating a case means a lot of work with the other lawyers and also with the witnesses! We have practices weekly, and on occasion, we would go to cafes to polish the case.”

Arrowhead’s Mock Trial team, prior to this year, has never made it to state. State will take place March fifth and sixth.
