Arrowhead Swimmers Take Home Club State Titles

In the month of March, Arrowhead had two swimmers take home state club titles in the  2021 Wisconsin State 13 and Over Swimming Championships (club)—Short Course. Female swimmers, sophomore Francesca Smith and senior Emmaleigh Zietlow, took home a total of three state titles.

Smith was the Individual State Champion (15 & 16 Girls) in the 50m and 100m Freestyle.

Zietlow capped off her senior club season with a state title and club record in the (17+) 1000m Freestyle.

Both of these athletes compete for the Lake Country Phoenix Swim Team coached by Mark D. Johnson.

Mothers of Smith and Zietlow, Maria and Kristin respectively, say they have great appreciation for all that Arrowhead swim and Lake Country swim have done for their daughters.

Kristin says, “Big shout out and thank you to our Club and High School Coaches who give so much to the programs and their athletes, on so many levels, to help them grow and achieve their goals.”

As for future plans, Zietlow will attend IUPUI (Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis) in the fall on an athletic (swim) and academic scholarships.  She plans to study neuroscience.

For Smith, being only a sophomore, she will continue swimming for Lake Country and Arrowhead High School Swim Teams this upcoming fall as well as the season after. She hopes to attain an academic or athletic scholarship in the future.
