Arrowhead‌ ‌Plans‌ ‌for‌ ‌Yearbook‌ ‌Signing‌ ‌Party‌

On Monday May 24th, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, the Arrowhead Yearbook Class and DECA will be holding the first annual Arrowhead Yearbook Signing Party at Arrowhead North Campus.  There will also be food trucks, music, and tailgate games.

Any Arrowhead students (not only seniors) interested in preparing yearbooks and also preparing the yearbook signing party can join Arrowhead’s Yearbook class, a year-long elective course at Arrowhead.

In yearbook class, students gain skills in teamwork, project management, page design, advanced publishing techniques, copywriting, editing, and photography while also producing a creative and innovative yearbook which records school memories and events.  This class is currently taught by Jana Danay, Business Ed. Teacher and Yearbook Adviser, at Arrowhead.

DECA, an organization at Arrowhead, will also be helping to prepare the Yearbook Signing Party.  The Arrowhead DECA Twitter page states “Arrowhead DECA is an association of marketing students that prepares leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing and management.”  DECA will be helping with the planning of the event.

The Arrowhead website states “students will gain skills in teamwork, project management, page design, advanced publishing techniques, copywriting, editing, and photography while producing a creative and innovative yearbook which records school memories and events.”

The “Yearbook” section on the Arrowhead High School website says that yearbooks will be distributed before the end of the school year, but Danay, Business Ed. Teacher and Yearbook Adviser at Arrowhead High School, states “we really hope students will come to pick up their book and get some signatures while enjoying a treat and hopefully some beautiful weather.”

The Arrowhead Yearbook Signing Party is separate from the 2021 Graduation Ceremony.  The Yearbook Signing Party will take place on May 24th, 2021, twelve days before the Graduation Ceremony on June 5th, 2021.  This is the first annual yearbook signing party at Arrowhead, meaning it is different from previous years where Arrowhead would only run the Graduation Ceremony.

Danay states “[the yearbook signing party] will be open to all students … right now it is set for 4-6pm, but we are hoping to shift that to 7pm now that the Arrowhead Way is also jumping on board … We will also have a DJ for music and Deca is going to incorporate some outdoor games like bag toss (corn hole), washers, ladder ball, etc.”  She also stated that they will have more details as they get closer.
