Rock band, Pierce The Veil, brought their I Can’t Hear You tour to the American Family Insurance Amphitheatre in Milwaukee, WI on Friday, October 17. There were three openers: Like Roses, Ecca Vandal, and HEALTH. Pierce The Veil played a total of 18 songs, ranging from their first album, A Flair for the Dramatic released in 2007, to their most recent album, The Jaws of Life in 2023.
Each show opens with “El Rey” by José Alfredo Jiménez to pay homage to the band’s hispanic heritage. This tour was a big moment for fans because it is the first time in many years the band has played songs from their first album, like “Yeah Boy and Doll Face” and “I’d Rather Die Than Be Famous.” Many Arrowhead students attended the show and had a wonderful time.
“This was my first concert, so I felt a lot of anxiety and excitement at the same time,” Lily Gonzales, junior said. “The concert was also very emotional for me, especially when they played ‘I’m Low on Gas and You Need a Jacket’.”
“It felt cool to be immersed by so much intense music and to be surrounded by people who wanted to have fun,” Brooke Haworth, junior said.
It is safe to say that Pierce The Veil impressed audiences with this tour. The intense energy felt by the crowd is why so many fans gravitate towards these heavy rock bands. Looking out into a sea of vibrant hair, face piercings and tattoos, it is clear fans believe in the themes of self-acceptance that Pierce The Veil writes about. The tour is not over yet, there are still multiple upcoming shows in South America, Europe and two dates in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The I Can’t Hear You tour has been a great success and will continue to stun audiences all over the world.
