March 14, 2024, will be national Pi Day. Pi (π) is a ratio of a circle’s circumference in relation to its diameter.
Pi is an infinite number, which means its decimals go on and on forever. But, the first three numbers of Pi are 3.14, making March 14 the ideal date to host it.
The history of Pi starts in its founding, which was 1988 by a physicist Larry Shaw.
According to Twinkle.com, “On March 14, Shaw and his colleagues ate fruit pies and marched around the circular space they had at the Exploratorium. In 2009, The U.S. The House of Representatives passed a resolution recognizing March 14 as Pi Day.”
Senior Madison Kayiser says, “I am going to make a oreo creme pie.”
The AMS math teacher,Angela Muresan says, “What I’ve seen in the past, is to have a circle drawing contest for who can draw the most perfect circle with at least 1 foot in diameter and bring a pie to work.”
