The Student Technology Leaders also known as Tech Leaders -is a small club that started in 2011 by Donna Smith. And now, the club has come up with a new way to broadcast the morning announcements for both North and South Campus.

Jacob Brewer, a Senior Tech Leader, said “The broadcast will feature the normal morning announcements, upcoming events at Arrowhead, weekly weather report, a technology tip with common problems encountered during school and sports scores brought to you by DECA. We are hoping for a video that is five minutes or less.”

The idea was proposed by the Tech Leaders to make the announcements more interesting for students and teachers.

Alex Chromy, another Senior Tech Leader, said, “They will be taking place of the morning announcements one day a week.”

Brewer said, “Teachers will be required to live stream the video in the morning before school. We hope to broadcast from 7:17 to 7:20 so we can include both campuses in the broadcast.”

The normal announcements will still be announced over the loud speaker on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Brewer said the announcements are going to be found from a number of resources. Upcoming events are found straight from the calendar on arrowheadschools.org. The weather is going to be found on local news’ website or weather.com.  The Tech tip will be posted on a channel on YouTube and possibly the entire broadcast. And sports scores will be found from the DECA’s website.

Chromy said, “They will be posted either on YouTube or the safari montage. The Tech Leaders came up with the idea last year and are finally able to put it into motion this year.”
