JoJo Todarello, AHS Senior, hugs older brother Dom after his record-breaking game.

Dominic Todarello, who attends UW-Oshkosh, earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, or WIAC, title of football player of the week according to UW-Oshkosh’s website (uwosh.edu). He received the award soon after the Titans’ 31-28 victory over visiting UW-River Falls on Oct. 28. Todarello graduated from Arrowhead in June of 2012.

He was named the league’s award winner on special teams, while quarterback Ben Beckman of UW-River Falls was selected on offense and cornerback Michael Pierson of UW-Stout for defense

Todarello returned a kickoff for a school record of 98 yards during the game, earning the team a well deserved six points. Following, he scored twice and reached a career record of 255 yards. 136 of these yards were solely from kickoff returns.

His 98 yard return tied the score with just 2 minutes left in the first quarter.

Jordan Todarello, current Arrowhead senior and little sister of the football player, says, “There’s nothing I love more than watching my brother play football every Saturday. He is so good, and there are talks of him eventually going to a division one school. I think that’s where he belongs.”

Another Arrowhead senior, football player Chandler Pulvermacher, also is proud of Todarello’s success in football thus far.

“He sets such a high standard for all Arrowhead football players. Not in a bad way, though. It encourages us to keep striving for greatness and it’s really fun to watch him play. 98 yards! That’s unheard of,” Pulvermacher says.

The Arrowhead football team ended their season on a loss in the second round of the playoffs against Fond Du Lac. In hopes to move on to a college football career, many of the boys have looked to UW-Oshkosh as an option, according to the team.

Pulvermacher says, “They have a really awesome football program. Seeing Dom out there doing his thing really makes me want to go there and then hopefully transfer to a division one school.”

Todarello and the rest of the UW-Oshkosh football team will take on UW-Eau Claire this Saturday, November third at the Titan’s homefield.
