The all new movie, The Boss, rated R is a comedy that hit theatres Friday the 8th, starring Kristen Bell and Melissa McCarthy.

The plot of the story is based on a wealthy CEO named Michelle Darnell (McCarthy) always getting her way, until she’s busted for insider trading and sent to federal prison. After leaving jail, Darnell finds herself broke, homeless and hated. Luckily, she tracks down former assistant Claire (Bell), the only person who’s willing to help. While staying with Claire and her young daughter, the ex-con devises a new business model for a brownie empire. Unfortunately, some old enemies stand in the way of her return to the top.

“I saw this movie with my sister and we could not stop laughing. Melissa McCarthy is one of my favorite actresses because of her humor, so I knew right away this was going to be a good movie. Definitely reccomend it, ” says junior Dom Fortune.

Arrowhead students can find this movie at local theatres including the Marcus Cinema and Majestic Cinema. For an additional money saver, according to marcustheatres.com, Marcus Theatre on Hillside in Delafield, as well as Majestic in Waukesha have $5 Tuesday movies on any movie, any time, for anyone. Additionally, patrons can enjoy concession specials too, like free popcorn for Magical Movie Rewards Members, $2 hot dogs and $2 candy.

“Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Bell in one movie sounded like a dream come true, so I went opening night. It was exactly what I thought It would be. Hilarious. Nothing else to say but go see it!” says senior Fjolla Mustafa.

McCarthy is known for movies like Spy, Tammy, The Heat, Bridesmaids and Identity Theft. Bell’s popular movies include When In Rome, Frozen, Veronica Mars, and You Again.

“I’m not going to lie, I thought that this was at first going to be like all the rest of the comedy movies out there and similar to past McCarthy movies — but I was wrong. The storyline and ending was just perfect and hilarious. The whole theatres was laughing so hard,” says senior Lindsay Toth.

According to www.rogerbert.com, Rotten Tomatoes gave The Boss an 18% rating, Rolling Stones gave it a 2.5/5 and Metacritic gave it a 40%. Although lower than Arrowhead  seem a little lower then what Arrowhead students thought.
