And now introducing Arrowhead football’s new head coach…Frederick Rauch.

Beside being on the turf running practices, Rauch can be found in room N149A teaching Modern Literature and Composition.

Rauch comes with an accomplished background of teaching and coaching. His background includes Zion, Illinois, where he was for six years, 20 years at Homestead in Wisconsin, and then one semester at Grafton before coming to Arrowhead.

Rauch says he wife is the English Department Chair and journalism teacher at Homestead High School and Cali, their daughter, is in third grade, involved in activities like swimming and softball.

The Rauch family has already embraced Arrowhead events, including  attending Friday night basketball games, both boys and girls, and hockey games. Rauch says his new favorite colors are even red and blue.

Rauch says he has high expectations of academic success and social behavioral excellence not only for his players, but also for all his students as well.

After years of teaching, Rauch says he still has enthusiasm and energy to wake up and teach every day. His welcoming attitude is displayed while standing outside his door before periods, that has had a positive influence on his students.

Junior Anne Shanabarger says she was nervous about her first English course at North campus, “but Mr. Rauch has made it really fun.”

When his time is unoccupied, Rauch says he enjoys reading, “historical thrillers and things that put him in different places,” spending time traveling with his family, participating in his daughter’s activities, and watching the television show Mad Men.

Arrowhead has had a successful coaching staff when it comes to football and Rauch says he is ready for the challenge.

“Of course there are high expectations here. That’s why I came here. If there weren’t high expectations, it wouldn’t be the place that it is,” Rauch says.

For Rauch, the, “goal is going to be the same every year: that is to improve every day.”

“All we can control is if we can improve as a team and as individuals,” said Rauch.
