Since the early 1970’s, the locker rooms were used during the fall months for the girls swim team and then they were used in the winter for girls and boys basketball.  The lower locker rooms are also used for girls soccer during the spring months and opposing teams when there are home games for basketball.  According to the Wisconsin Bid Network, the remodeling is projected to start on or before October 29th and the remodeling will be done no later than January 12th.  The project does interfere with the boys and girls basketball seasons.

The project is supposed to raise the ceilings in order to create better air flow in the locker rooms.  Another possible addition would be a media room and lounge room for the boys and girls basketball team.  The bathroom

“”There’s locker rooms upstairs that we could use for practice. We’d have to go to a classroom down here during games, but we’d make it work,” says Rick Witte, girls basketball head coach.

Though the project interferes with the boys and girls basketball season, the locker rooms have not been redone since they were built in the early 1970’s according to Building and Grounds Director, Kevin Lipscomb.

According to the Living Lake Country Reporter, both Witte and boys head basketball coach Craig Haase have expressed problems with the locker rooms.  One problem that was stated was the ventilation and height of the ceilings in each locker room.  Remodeling the ventilation and ceilings will be one of the main focuses of the project, according to the board of education notes taken on August 13th.

“I really want the locker rooms to be a comfortable for players and I am excited to see what the upgrades that it will bring to the basketball programs,” says boys basketball assistant coach John Hoch.
