Arrowhead Boys Soccer Competing For Conference Champions

After the tied game against Catholic Memorial on September 30th, the Arrowhead boys soccer team has a chance to be conference champions for three years in a row.  In 2012, the team won 14  games and lost two games in the regular season.  In 2013, the boys went undefeated the whole season up until a lose against Muskego in the sectional final game.

The varsity team has a game on tuesday night that will decide if they can continue as the three-peat for conference champions.

The boys play against Kettle Moraine at Arrowhead High School at 6:30pm.

The only thing that is standing in the way of this possibility of being three time conference champions is the other tuesday night game.

Waukesha West is playing against Catholic Memorial at Waukesha West High School at 6:30.  If Arrowhead wins on tuesday night and Waukesha West loses or ties then Arrowhead will be the conference champions for three years in a row.

“Last year when we played Kettle Moraine for conference champions, it came down to the final minute and we won the game off a penalty kick with a final score of 3-2,” says Arrowhead varsity player, Jake Felkner.

Although the team has suffered injuries and four non conference losses, it is possible that they will be able to be the conference champions again.  If the boys win on tuesday, it will be the first time in Arrowhead history that they will be conference champions for three years in a row according to Felkner.

In previous years it has all came down to the last game of the season in conference to determine the champion says Felkner.

Steven Peterson, a senior varsity player, has made both of the penalty kicks in the previous years to make the team conference champions.

“If our backs can correctly switch the point of attack then our penetration can be deadly, I am very confident that we pull out the three peat,” says, starting center midfielder, Steven Peterson.

Coming from Felkner and Peterson, the players are confident that they will win the game and therefore become conference champions for three years in a row.
