Dave Grohl is a 45 year old musician who has quite the resume. He’s been involved with music from the age of 10 when he started his first band. Grohl later dropped out of high school to pursue his dream of creating music. Soon enough, Grohl was the drummer of the iconic Nirvana, and would later form the early 90’s band Foo Fighters.

Drummers sometimes don’t get quite the credit they deserve. Grohl plays all of his instruments so wonderfully; drums, guitar, bass, piano, and vocals.

Grohl is awesome because he is a man of words, and he writes all of them. While drumming in Nirvana, he helped Cobain write several of their top songs, including “Smells like Teen Spirit,” “Lithium,” and “About a Girl.” And later, when he formed Foo Fighters, he wrote (and still continues to write) all of the lyrics. At the beginning of the formation of Foo Fighters, he even played all the instruments and sang by himself on the original EP.

Grohl also gives back. It’s been reported on different occasions that he’s tipped waiters over $1,000, he’s helped in the disaster relief around the world, he’s helped aid the war on poverty, and he has performed at numerous charity functions free of charge. Grohl was even nicknamed “the nicest man in rock n’ roll.”

Lastly, Grohl is the ultimate best because he’s Dave Grohl. He’s nobody but himself. In interviews, in concerts, on the red carpet, and in the studio you can always find him with that million dollar smirk and the heady hands of a ready musician brimming with ideas.

And Dave is going to continue great things. He’s been quoted to say, “There’s always gonna be rock n’ roll bands, there’s always gonna be kids that love rock n’ roll records, and there will always be rock n’ roll.”
