Arrowhead seniors feel relief from the end of AP testing this week. Seniors have 14 more school days until graduation. Graduation day takes place on Saturday, June 7th at 7:00pm at Arrowhead’s Stadium.

Senior Nick Sorenson said, “I feel so great now that APs are finally over. It’s like this huge weight is lifted off my shoulders.”

Now that APs are over, some classes are watching movies or educational videos or doing projects. Some of these classes include AP Macroeconomics, AP European History, and AP U.S. History.

Senior Elliot Sweet said, “In my AP Calc class, we’re watching a movie. It’s pretty pointless.”

Now that AP’s are over and school is coming to a close, some students have stopped putting in as much effort for their class as they were during the rest of the year.

Senior Jake Coumans said, “I checked out right after my AP’s. I’m basically showing up to school and hoping for the best. I’m sure it won’t carry over to college.”

The temperature is rising and the sun is out more. The change in weather is having an effect on some students’ performance in class. Some say they are unable to concentrate on school because they “just want to go outside and relax.” Others say it helps them in school because they are “happier and more awake during classes.”

Senior Shannon Johnson said, “This weather is so beautiful. It makes me happy and I feel like I have more energy. The dreary winter has finally passed.”

Graduating students that are intending to further their education are going to colleges all over the U.S. Many of them are hoping for it to be a fresh start and they’ll buckle down when they get there.

Coumans said, “I think I’ll do fine in college, but the first few months will probably be a bit rough. I’ll need to get my groove down so I can perform well in school. I’m just happy to be getting out of high school and going to college.”
