Parents RSVP for the Arrowhead Scholarship Fund Dinner to raise money to give Arrowhead graduates scholarships.

Arrowhead’s fifteenth annual scholarship and dinner auction kicks off Friday, April 4th. Mike Ziegler, Arrowhead Scholarship Fund president, says, “All money raised at the event are used to award scholarships to the graduating seniors of Arrowhead High School.”

The dinner starts at 6:30 at Red Circle Inn, a cocktail reception and silent auction. The night then continues with its “around the world” theme and guests can enjoy “all around the world” food station. The night also includes a live auction and a midnight DJ and dancing.

Ziegler says, “We have both a live auction and silent auction at our event.  This year the live auction will feature a kayak along with paddle board lessons, priority seating at graduation, the unique ability to participate in handing out diplomas at the graduation ceremony, sports tickets, a chance to view the fourth of July fireworks from a rooftop in downtown Milwaukee, wine pairing dinner for 4, and other fun and unique items.”

Ziegler says, “The silent auction will feature tickets to AHS Broadway events, dining at local restaurants, gift baskets, koss headphones, tires, fishing equipment, jewelry, and many, many more items.”

Dena Kling, one of the organizers of the dinner, says, “I expect it to be a fantastic time for all that attend.”

This night raises a lot of money for the Arrowhead Scholarship Fund. Ziegler says, “Last year we raised approximately $45,000.”

This year, the dinner is expected to have a large turnout.

Ziegler says, “We are expecting over 120 attendees to our auction dinner this year.”

The Arrowhead scholarship fund was established in 1958. The Arrowhead Scholarship Fund website says, “The purpose of ASF is to raise scholarship monies for seniors graduating from Arrowhead High School.”

The fund has given out almost $1,000,000 dollars to 2,000 graduating students since the fund began.

Ziegler says, “Last year we awarded $75,000 to the graduating class of 2013!”

The Arrowhead scholarship fund website says, that “Awards for scholarships are given based upon a number of criteria including G.P.A., ACT scores, as well as extracurricular school activities, leadership roles, community service, employment and letters of recommendation. The applications are now available on the Arrowhead website.”
