Mid winter break was a four day weekend for Arrowhead students from Friday the 21st through Monday the 24th.  During the break students had time to relax and forget about their academic lives.

Now students have to wait until spring break for their next break from school, which is at the end of March.

Sophie Siepmann, a sophomore, went to Chicago for a few nights during the mid winter break.

“I went to Chicago for the break and it was really fun.  I just had a few tests to study for and not much homework so it was good not having to worry about school while I was there,” says Siepmann.

Siepmann did many things over her break like shopping, going out to dinner at the Girl and the Goat, and visiting the Shedd Aquarium.  Her most exciting event on her break was meeting two of her favorite actresses at dinner, Sophia Bush and Leighton Meester.  Siepmann sat next to them at the Girl and the Goat restaurant, it was a complete coincident.

“I met my favorite actresses which was probably one of the best things that’s happened to me in my life.  They were so nice and I was shocked I ran into them in such a big city,” Siepmann says.

Siepmann got back from her trip on Sunday so she had the rest of the day and Monday to study for her tests or complete any assignments that were due.  She says she wishes she would have stayed longer, but that was still a great time with her family to be in Chicago.

“I will probably go see my grandparents in Arizona.  It’s what I normally do and I like to get out of Wisconsin and have a nice break from school,” says Siepmann.

“I definitely recommend going somewhere for break because it takes your mind off the stresses of school and it’s fun going on little trips to see your family or just a fun getaway,” says Siepmann.
