Catching Fire is a 2009 science fiction young adult novel by American novelist Suzanne Collins, the second book in The Hunger Games trilogy. As the sequel to the 2008 bestseller The Hunger Games, it continues the story of Katniss Everdeen.  Catching Fire’s release date was November 22, 2013 in the USA.  The book however, was released in 2009.

The novel received very positive feedback from people who read it.  I also read the novels and thought they were very well written and had an amazing, and very creative plots.  The novel won many awards, including the California Young Reader Medal, and it was also named one of Publishers Weekly’s “Best Books of the Year” in 2008.

In my opinion, the movies were just as good as the books.  Many times you see movies changed from what was portrayed and written in the books, but the movie of Catching Fire matched up very well to the book.  There were not many differences between the novel and movie, which was one of the reasons the movie was so popular.  They were noted for keeping the storyline of the movie almost identical to the original.
