We’re All Just Makin’ It

Saturday, May 7th was the last performance of the Arrowhead Drama department’s show, Makin’ It. The show was an exhibition of great talent and passion, which filled the auditorium with enthusiasm. This was an excellent conclusion to the 2016 year for the Drama department.

Thirty two cast members gave an exceptional performance about some of the everyday trials and tribulations common high school students are surrounded by. In a realistic way, the show explored issues ranging from insecurities, to pride, to drugs, and so many others.

The tickets were $8, which was a real deal. The show was a great opportunity to take mom out without spending too much money.

Without set changes, the stage crew was able to encompass the halls of Dwight D. Eisenhower high school, Principal Vince Carnelii’s office, and a home dinning set.

From the dancing, to the mimicking, to the fighting, everything came off naturally for the actors and actresses: nothing seemed to be stiff or rehearsed. Each and every character gave heart to their performance and it was evident by the feeling and emotions of the audience with long and loud standing ovations.

A few of the lead roles were performed by senior Bryce Greenhagen, junior Robbie Hinrichs, senior Clara Matson, and junior Emma Cholip.

“I thought it was neat that some of the administration staff was played by actual Arrowhead staff, like Mrs. Nordwig and Ms. Singletary,” said senior Miranda Schlise who saw the show with her mom as a Mother’s Day treat on Saturday, May 7th.

The show was directed by not only by Maralynn Markano, but also by senior Dana Marklund who served as the Assistant Director.

This was top-shelf entertainment. The effort and time that the cast and crew sacrificed was evident and well-appreciated. Congratulations to the Arrowhead Drama department for yet another exceptional year of successful and outstanding performances.
