The school store is located in the cafeteria area at Arrowhead’s North Campus and is run by marketing teacher and DECA adviser Steve Melzer. In the school year, DECA members agreed to put a Play Station 2 in the store for students to play went they don’t have free time.

Providing the PS2 in the school stores advantages because the store sells candy and promotes school events and can help the store make revenue off of students who buy the stores items.

“I love having the system in the school store because it gives me something to do when I don’t have anything to do in study hall,” said Evan Burlingame, a senior at Arrowhead High School.

Video games are included with the system in the store and some of the games include Madden 08, NBA 08, and Tiger Woods 01.

“Madden 08 is the one we all play because it’s a fun game and being able to play with older teams make it awesome,” said Cody Hagen, a senior at Arrowhead High School.

Seniors say they love playing the games with teams-play options. There are always students waiting to play when the school store is open.

“The Green Bay Packers are my favorite team to be because I love Brett Favre and he’s really good in the game,” said Hagen.

“My favorite team to play with is the Chicago Bears because they have a good defense,” said Burlingame.

Play Station 2 came out on March 4, 2000. Since then, newer systems have came out on the market, including the Xbox 360 and the Wii.

“I wouldn’t want any of the newer systems in the store because it would take away the fun from playing the older games and system,” said Burlingame.

There has been studies stating and that video games can cause grades to go down according to www.bigquestionsonline.com.

But Hagen says, “My grades haven’t changed at all from it if anything my grades have gone up.”
