Experiencing Arcs and Sparks
Warhawk Manufacturing is hosting an event, open to the public. This event is called ¨Arcs and Sparks¨ and consists of participants making their own manufacturing pieces.
The first of the two pieces that will be made is the “Lazy Susan Turntable”. The diameter of the piece is 18 inches and will be decorated by the participants.
“Participants will be using a table router, CNC router, sander, and more. In addition, you will paint and finish the piece…” says Anthony Christian, an Arrowhead manufacturing and engineering instructor.
The second piece will be a metal birdhouse (6.5” x 8.5” x 9.25”) crafted with a welder and a grinder.
Christian states, “We would only ask that you please wear closed-toe shoes, pants, and no loose clothing. If needed, please bring a hair tie or hat to tie back long hair.”.
The protective gear will be provided. This would include: welding gloves, jackets, helmets, and safety goggles.
The event will take place on December 3rd, in the North Campus Engineering/ Manufacturing Labs (room N148). The time frame for “Arcs and Sparks” is 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The fee to participate in this event is $150 per person and all the money will be put towards Manufacturing Scholarships for 2022 Warhawk Students.
