The meet started at 9:30 AM and concluded at 12:30 pm.

To prepare for the meet, the Arrowhead team went to the course a couple weeks before to see what the course would entail.

Duchac says that, “Knowing this made the race feel easier, and it gave us an upper hand over the teams who hadn’t raced the course before.”

Rae prepared for the race by eating a good meal the night before followed by a protein filled breakfast in the morning, and then not eating anything two hours before the race.

Rae says that, “positive mantras before my race help me feel confident and fast.”

The team warms up 45 minutes before with a jog, drills, and strides.

Duchac says that one of Arrowhead’s goals is, “to get as many people as possible in front of another team’s number one or number two runners.”

Jill Bradley, a parent liaison and a fan of the girls cross country team for years says, “It was so fun to see their hard work pay off. They looked fast, smooth and strong…It’s wonderful to see great things happen to awesome people!”
