Spring Blood Drive to Occur on 4/17

A blood drive will take place on April 17 at Arrowhead High School from 7:45 am to 1:30 pm in the North Campus West Gym.

The American Red Cross is partnering with Arrowhead’s Student Senate to collect donated blood to give to those in need. Students can sign-up to donate from April 8th to the 16th during their lunch period; there will be a table to sign-up at in the cafeteria. Appointments are encouraged; however, walk-ins are welcome. Students must be at least 16 years old to sign-up.

Addison Burkhart, a sophomore at AHS, says, “I think that the blood drive is a great idea. It allows students to help save lives and in a convenient and supported environment .”

There will be snacks as well as ice cream and sandwich coupons for the donors. All donors will be entered into a raffle for the AHS Coffee Shop and the AHS School Store.

Burkhart says, “I definitely think that Arrowhead should become more involved with things like the blood drive, as it can save people here in our community as well. It could even help Ian Lang, currently a sophomore at Arrowhead with Bone Cancer that needs blood transfusions.” The last blood drive at Arrowhead was December 14, 2018.
