Local Street Clowns Frighten
There have been even more clown sightings in southern Milwaukee and Lake Country. The clowns are standing by the roads under street lights to frighten people.
The number of recent sightings has been multiplying with more 911 calls for disturbing of the peace. One incident in West Virginia, a woman opening the shades on a window to see a clown peeking in at her.
“I think it’s really messed up,” says Arrowhead student Nick Russell. “It’s all over Twitter and Facebook. Weird pictures of these clowns. They even have their own group chats if people want to talk to them.”
In Pasco County, Florida, There was a threat posted on Facebook by a clown who stated that he was going to hurt local school children.
Across the country, there have been arrests on clowns.according to the CBS news,there have been different acts of clowns trying to kidnap children. He was spotted in multiple states such as Georgia and South Carolina. Some clowns are trying to lure children into the woods.
A total of 33 states have reported sightings of threatening clowns. Although the clowns are being sighted in more of the southern states, there have been sightings in Wisconsin.
In Sheboygan, Wisconsin, a clown has been growing popular with the name “Gags.” He’s had the police called on him several times, but so far he hasn’t done anything wrong other than disturbing the neighborhood peace. Eventually he turned out not only be advertising a new horror-clown movie.In Southern Milwaukee, there have been sightings of teenagers in clown suits.
“The clown has a Facebook,” says Milwaukee South student, Chelsea Sholz. “I’m afraid to walk home now or even go to my friends house. I hear that they’ve been violent recently.”
“He’s been talking to people through the group chat,” she says.
Lately on the WISN news channel, there have been worried and terrified mothers. The Milwaukee Police Department posted on buildings that there are sinister clowns in the area and that parents should watch their children during the day and most importantly during the night. They also posted that Halloween is near and that all children should stay in big groups or with a parent at all times.
“The clowns are threatening people more and more. I feel like I’m living in a horror movie or something with these clowns everywhere. I hate the feeling that there could be a creepy clown following me home. I shouldn’t have to be afraid of this,” says Scholz.
Around November in 2015, there was a clown who was frightening people near Carroll University. He was a teenage boy who claimed that he just did it for laughs and smiles from people. The police asked his mother what she was thinking to let him do this and she told them he didn’t mean any harm and that he shouldn’t be in trouble.
“It’s crazy that people are dressing up as clowns. Yes they have a right too but I don’t think it’s necessarily right. It’s definitely not a right to try kidnapping people,” say Russell. “All I can say is that with all of these clowns roaming around, it’s going to be an interesting Halloween.”
