Arrowhead Varsity Baseball back in Action
The Arrowhead boys varsity baseball’s season is coming to a start. Thursday, May 15th, is the first day of tryouts. They start at 3:00 p.m. at O’Driscoll field, which is the varsity field located behind the football stadium.
Seniors that graduated last year were Dom Toderello, Mitchell Dubnika, Justin Brezikaushky, Kyle Escoff, Travis Reiztaarts, Andrew Buelek and Jake Holland.
The Warhawks were 12-17 last year and made it to the first round of playoffs, but lost to West Bend, East 3 to 1.
This year, the Warhawks are led by seniors Benny Serres, Matt Robins and Branden Frank. Logan Rupard, a senior catcher, is out for the season due to an ACL injury.
The Warhawks are led by head coach Vince Mancuso. He was recently inducted into University Oshkosh Hall of Fame for who he played four years of baseball and was an All-American.
“Right now, we have some injuries, but we should be just fine for the season,” said Robins.
“We should be just fine this year. We have strong pitchers and great depth, but you never know what will happen,” said Serres.
Friday, May 23rd is the Warhawks first game against the defending Conference champs Kettle Moraine. The game is at 5:30 p.m. at Arrowhead High School.
“They are a great team they only lost three seniors from last year, but we have a strong team this year and we shouldn’t have a problem,” said Robins.
