2014 Lacrosse Teams Announced!
The 2014 lacrosse roster was posted on Friday, March 21st on the Arrowhead High School’s website.
The team held tryouts from Monday the 17th through Thursday the 20th and teams were decided the next day. There’s a Varsity Red and White Team and a JV red and white team.
Tuesday, April 8th is the first game for the two Varsity lacrosse teams, Varsity Red versus Varsity White at Arrowhead High School at 5:00 pm. The same day both JV teams, red and white, play against each other at 6:30 pm.
Sophomore Abbey Weisrock is a first time goalie on the Varsity White team. She says she has no lacrosse experience, but that she has played the goalie position for ice hockey and soccer. Sarah Hahn has been playing lacrosse for three years now and she is on the Varsity Red team.
“I think I’m getting the hang of it. I have goalie background which helps a lot,” says Weisrock.
“It’s been really fun playing with different people from last year and meeting the new incoming players. I really missed lacrosse from last year,” says Hahn.
All of the AHS Girls Lacrosse teams are members of The Classic Eight Conference, which is a member of the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation.
In 2013, the Classic Eight has varsity teams from Arrowhead, Brookfield, Kettle Moraine, Oconomowoc, University School of Milwaukee and Waukesha. The Classic Eight also has JV teams from Arrowhead, Brookfield, Kettle Moraine, Mukwonago, Waukesha, University School of Milwaukee, Kenosha and Lakeshore, according to the Arrowhead lacrosse website.
According to the Arrowhead lacrosse website, “Arrowhead has won the State Title four times in six years and has been Conference Champions in all six years the program has existed.”
“My goal for the season is to win state,” says Hahn.
“I’m so excited to play my first game of lacrosse as the goalie. I hope I do alright,” says Weisrock.
