Hunting Season in Wisconsin Attracts AHS Students

Every year, hundreds of people decide to go out and get a hunting license to shoot deer.  Then those hundreds of the licensed hunters, go out on November 23rd until December 3rd, with a gun to hunt for deer.  In Wisconsin, children between the age of 10-15 may hunt with a licensed hunter over 18.   If you are over 18, you may hunt alone.

In order to hunt, you must have the proper tags.  A group of students at Arrowhead High School choose to go out and hunt deer with guns during November 23rd until December 3rd.

John Widish, a senior, says, “I like hunting and a lot of my family hunts, but I have yet to hunt deer.  I have my hunting license and I would like to go as soon as possible.”

Widish would choose to hunt deer, if he had the opportunity to.

Alyssa Stachowiak, a senior, says, “I think it’s good that people hunt because there are so many deer out and when people kill them, there are less to wreck our cars.”

Stachowiak’s family hunts deer every year, and Stachowiak has a hunting license.

Amy Stephens, a senior, says, “I feel that hunting is something that needs to be done in order to regulate the population because I dont want to see dead deer on the side of the road or wreck people’s cars.”

Stephens doesn’t like to kill things, but she says she kills bugs.
